Mientras filmaban Rápido y furioso: Reto Tokio, no pudieron obtener permiso para filmar en Shibuya, el barrio más ajetreado de Tokio. Lo filmaron de todos modos. Cuando arribó la policía el director Justin Lin se sorprendió cuando un tipo dio un paso adelante y afirmó ser el director. Sin que él lo supiera, Universal había contratado a un chivo expiatorio para hacerse pasar por el hombre a cargo y pasar la noche en la cárcel.
